Akane participates in a friendly quiz match in Kurokawa’s hometown. However, she slips away from the venue to visit a coffee shop with ties to Kurokawa. When she mentions Kurokawa’s name, however, the shop manager’s expression changes, and she is quickly kicked out. Eto, who had been following Akane, then appears outside the shop. Akane asks Eto for help and sneaks into the back of the shop when the manager isn’t looking. There, she finds a photo of Kurokawa and the shop manager looking friendly together, along with a letter. Seeing Akane’s bold actions, Eto confronts her about his long-harbored suspicions. “You’re the culprit, aren’t you?” Then, Eto took an even more unexpected action.

On Tsubaki’s orders, Saiki follows Jinnai, but he is quickly shaken off. Jinnai secretly meets with Jiu at a hotel, where Jiu reveals new information about Kaori’s case to him. Meanwhile, three students from the same university as Katsuragi’s daughter, Riko, die of drug overdoses at a karaoke bar in the downtown area.
MADDER Sono Jiken, Watashi ga Hannin desu EP08 “Page 8 June 9th [Mr. Kurokawa’s Memoir]”
In 2002, 23-year-old Kurokawa worked as an apprentice secretary for his father, Toshihisa, who was a politician. Fed up with a world full of political agendas, Kurokawa grew closer to Ryoko, the niece of the store manager, at the restaurant “Rindon,” the only place where he could find himself. A year later, when Toshihisa learns of their relationship, he investigates Ryoko’s background. He is adamantly opposed to the relationship, saying that Ryoko is unfit for his son. He also reveals that he took care of the pregnancy. When Ryoko learns of Kurokawa’s position, she says, “I will raise this child myself,” and disappears. Akane, who learned about Kurokawa’s past by reading the letter she took from “Rindon,” visits the restaurant again and asks the manager about something.

A woman claiming to be a murderer visits Kajiya, a detective in the Investigation Division. Kajiya is pursuing the serial killer who has shaken the whole country. She tells the woman that she doesn’t have time for pranks, but the woman offers her a notebook and says, “There won’t be any more victims. Kajiya reads the notebook and recounts the serial murders that took place at Seiran Academy six years ago. The woman reveals there was a student fascinated by Kurokawa, the suspect, who began committing petty crimes at the academy and eventually became a serial killer.

Ebiko is going on a two-day, one-night business trip to a hot spring with her boss, Taijima, whom she admires. In a cheerful mood and thinking of Taijima, she puts extra effort into choosing her outfit. Even after arriving at their destination, she is so fascinated by Taijima that she can’t concentrate on her work. They find themselves alone in a cafรฉ, talking at close range, and her heart won’t stop pounding! However, there is something wrong with Taijima. Even at important dinners with clients, he looks pale and doesn’t return to his seat. Ebiko, worried, goes looking for him and finds Taijima crouching down. Ebiko clumsily saves Taijima!
DOPE Mayaku Torishimari Bu Tokuso Ka EP03 “CASE 3: Drug Trafficking in the Rehabilitation Facility?! Buddy is Using DOPE…”
To investigate Jinnai’s past, Saiki enlists Seiji Tsubaki’s help. Tsubaki is a commander in the First Investigation Division. Together, they open the case files on Jinnai’s wife, Kaori. Tsubaki was involved in Kaori’s investigation and was concerned about Jinnai after the incident. Tsubaki tells Saiki that he suspects Jinnai of taking DOPE and asks him to keep an eye on him. Meanwhile, Saiki is overjoyed that his mother, Miwako, has been allowed to leave the rehabilitation facility for DOPE addicts where she was staying. However, DOPE is found among the belongings of a resident who suddenly died at the facility. The Special Investigation Unit immediately launches an investigation and successfully makes contact with a DOPE dealer. As the Special Investigation Unit closes in on an arrest, the dealer seizes an opportunity to take DOPE, and a special power awakens!
