Akane participates in a friendly quiz match in Kurokawa’s hometown. However, she slips away from the venue to visit a coffee shop with ties to Kurokawa. When she mentions Kurokawa’s name, however, the shop manager’s expression changes, and she is quickly kicked out. Eto, who had been following Akane, then appears outside the shop. Akane asks Eto for help and sneaks into the back of the shop when the manager isn’t looking. There, she finds a photo of Kurokawa and the shop manager looking friendly together, along with a letter. Seeing Akane’s bold actions, Eto confronts her about his long-harbored suspicions. “You’re the culprit, aren’t you?” Then, Eto took an even more unexpected action.

Following the incident, the students are forced to leave school, but Akane goes to the rooftop where the investigation has been completed. Eto and the others arrive and accuse Akane of being the culprit. Apparently, the victim had recently become interested in Akane and had been snooping around her, so that was their motive. However, Akane laughs at their childish reasoning. Kajiya of the First Investigation Division also considers Akane a suspect and questions her.

Determined to find the culprit who forced the cancellation, Eto is set on bringing them to justice. With her classmate in her sights, Akane prepares her next scheme while eavesdropping on the principal’s office. There, her homeroom teacher, Kadokura, and the assistant homeroom teacher, Sasaki, hint that the cancellation was due to a leak in the exam information. Kadokura asserts that Minowa, the classical literature teacher, must be the culprit. Unbeknownst to her, Miyauchi was eavesdropping on this conversation from behind the door.

Led by Akane, Class 1-A begins their search for the culprit who destroyed the stone statue. However, Akane grows impatient with the stupid geniuses who show no signs of getting close to the core of the case. Meanwhile, it is discovered that a plaster statue in the art room has also been destroyed, and Shinozaki comes up with a theory about the destruction of the statues. Akane, frustrated that her classmates are unable to identify the culprit, gives Eto a book. At the same time, Shinozaki and Yorihara, who were watching a video of the destroyed statue and the ensuing commotion, notice something strange. Eto also reads the book Akane gave him and notices something strange. Akane makes another move to entertain herself.
