Akane asks Eto for help and sneaks into the back of the shop when the manager isn’t looking. There, she finds a photo of Kurokawa and the shop manager looking friendly together, along with a letter. Akane, who learned about Kurokawa’s past by reading the letter she took from “Rindon,” visits the restaurant again and asks the manager about something.

Kajiya reads the notebook and recounts the serial murders that took place at Seiran Academy six years ago. The woman reveals there was a student fascinated by Kurokawa, the suspect, who began committing petty crimes at the academy and eventually became a serial killer.

Eto and the others arrive and accuse Akane of being the culprit. Apparently, the victim had recently become interested in Akane and had been snooping around her, so that was their motive.
