Joji’s health is failing, and he doesn’t have much time left. Kimiko vows to be a pillar of strength for him. To encourage Joji, the family painted a plate together. They filled it with the carefully prepared matsutake rice made by Shinsaku and the others. Even after Joji passed away, Kimiko remained strong. Amidst this, George Fujikawa appeared.

When Tsuyu and Mai rushed over to learn the woman’s identity, she began to explain why Hokabe had started eating so unhealthily.

However, Takayuki suddenly locked Rei in the president’s office.

Concerned that Hokabe had been knocked out by the early summer heat and could only eat a regular-sized bowl of gyudon, Mai asked Tsuyu to create a mentsuyu dish that would help combat summer fatigue. After eating the lunchbox that Mai had made based on the recipe, Hokabe was so moved that he instinctively took Mai’s hand. Tsuyu and Iriko watched the two of them, who were staring intently at each other with tense expressions.
